Mirroring Mind

Every now and then I visit the Mediterranean Museum and marvel at the collection of findings from ancient civilizations.  I especially have a fascination with mummies and the Ancient Egypt. Don’t worry, I’m not one of those who claim to have been Cleopatra in a previous life – if anything I probably was unfortunate enough to be a donkey driver or pyramid builder! But there’s something about that culture which allures me and always have, even as a child. It fascinates me to look at…

YES, please!

Yoga in Rishikesh ”NO!” the woman impatiently snaps at her daughter. The little girl is about three years old. A cute face framed by whitish blonde curls, wearing a flower patterned summer dress and her frustration is so obvious that she might as well have it stamped on her forehead. Now the pair of them has really…

Attitudinal Generosity

How generous are you? What does the word generosity mean to you?

”He paid for…”, ”She spent…” Our idea of generosity is often limited to material things and the first three chakras, which are concerned with our physical survival in the world; our primitive need of being safe and provided…

Whether you love me or not – I love you. Whether you see me or not – I see you. Whether you hear me or not – I hear you. Whether you shine or not – I shine for you.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about love. Love and freedom. Love for freedom. Love as freedom. The personal…

In Reincarnation

”Do you believe in reincarnation?” is a common question among people interested in spirituality and somehow seems to be a very important one, for unknown reasons. What is reincarnation? It is energy-back-into-matter, right? But that happens all the time and we don’t need to lay down in our last…

but I am on my way

Roshan said, the path of life is funny. it is like this:

we are all on the same path, going in the same direction. some call it evolution of consciousness. if we were a large group sitting together in a room, we are all "together" physically, but may be very far apart mentally…

moving through the storm...

life has felt pretty crazy ever since i returned home from rishikesh in late july - adjusting back to previous ways of living while simultaneously attempting to form new patterns and habits has been a struggle. after being home from india for just two weeks, i packed up again and headed to costa rica for a long, luxurious vacation spent with my family and close friends. now i'm back in my old house that i grew up in after living on my own for over a year, working at a high end restaurant…
